Therefore, Sakthi Foundation started Sakthi schools in the village of Sendurai to educate kids.

Sendurai is a beautiful town near Madurai, surrounded by hills. Sendurai has nearly 5000 residents and they are mostly formers. Average family income is approximately Rs. 50 ($ 1) per day and the literacy rate is less than 5%. Therefore, the children's are forced to work in the agricultural lands to help their parents.
